Dear followers ! thankyou for following me all these days, It is time I move on. Yes I am ending my blog. Thank you for your valuable comments…. Goodbye and Take care of your Life.

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you
But make allowance for their doubting too,
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don’t deal in lies,
Or being hated, don’t give way to hating,
And yet don’t look too good, nor talk too wise:

If you can dream–and not make dreams your master,
If you can think–and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you’ve spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build ‘em up with worn-out tools:

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it all on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breath a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: “Hold on!”

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with kings–nor lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you;
If all men count with you, but none too much,
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it,
And–which is more–you’ll be a Man, my son!

Walking in the rain!!

  I still remember that night. It happened when I was at 2 or 3rd standard. It was the night that made me love the rainy season. I Kerala we celebrate Onam. It is a state festival of Kerala. So in the city which I live we have a week-long celebration of Onam. It includes government sponsored fares,various cultural programmes and as the grand finale on the last day a gala procession. This procession includes various floats, band marches, police aerobic teams etc. Usually it is a time when families come together and celebrate this grand festival of Kerala. It is a time which we all malayalies thoroughly enjoy.
       Like all other families ours also went to see the procession.It inculded me ,my sister, father and mother. The procession started at about 5. It was always an amazing to see the various types of floats the make each year. We enjoyed the procession thoroghly.Our house is near by the main road , so at about 7 my mother went home to prepare dinner. Father and us remained to see the rest of the procession. suddenly there happened a downpour. It was raining like cats and dogs. Within a span of 10 minutes all the people gathered there were dispersed. There was a huge rush and since I was small father took me in his one arm and with the other he clutched my sister’s hand very tightly and started to walk towards our home. The huge rush mad progress difficult, but that walk in the rain was enjoyed throughly by me. We three were completely drenched when we got home. But it is that night, that walk in the rain with my father and sister that made me fall in love with the rainy season. Even after so many years the memory of that walk is still alive in me!!.

                      Today morning I installed the latest version of Kubuntu in my virtual box. Virtual box is a virtualization tool that is developed by sun micro systems to install an OS on top of another without formatting the Hard disk or for that matter changing your system. How a virtual box works in given here. The latest edition of the virtual box can be downloaded from the sun website.For the sake of terminology the OS which is already in you machine is called Host operating system, the operating system that is being installed on top of it is called as guest operating system Ok! Here are the steps to install the new OS.

1) Download the setup of the virtual box from the sun website.

2)install the virtual box.

3) The open the vbox. It will contain the os that the system supports, in my case it was linux. then in the 2nd column specify the distribution which you are going to install. In case your distribution or OS version is not mentioned then select the option other/unknown OS.

4) Then the Vbox will ask you to select a virtual harddisk. This is nothing but a virtual file in which all the files of the guest OS is installed. Select a name for the drive and select the drive into which the virtual disk is to be created.

5) Then click on the next button and finish.

6) So far the entire setup for installing the system.Now insert the installation CD in the drive and then start the virtual machine. The normal installation of the os can be done normally.

                        Do give me your feedback,on how to improve this blog. Also feel free to ask any doubts, I will try to answer them to the best of my abilities.

Yesterday we had a news which details the attack on Bangalore ISRO. Today the news is turned as a mistake. ISRO is an integral part of our country. One which had brought pride to our nation during troubled and dark times and for such an event to happen in the such a place is a matter of national shame. We need to tighten up our security if we have to safeguard our country. Such events are truly undermining our trust in our government .

It was during last years Amritakalotsavam that Unni my friend and classmate for 6 years asked me whether I would like to participate as his teammate for the quiz competition in connection with the Kalotsavam. I said yes although I had no idea as to what help I would be to him. Our colleges Quizzes were always conducted by Karthik sir who simply is the best quiz master around. during this particular quiz we were representing our house( Jyothirmayi). It was during the prelims that I first came to experience the quiz genius that was Unni. He was very sharp and combined with that he had an in-depth knowledge about just about every subject in the world. His special forte was geography which he calls as “easy!”. We passed the prelims and were selected for the final 4. In the finals we finished 3rd. After the quiz we started attending every quiz that was conducted in the college. We became our regular quizzers in our college. Totally we attend some 4 or 5 quizzes together and came up on top in most of these quizzes. kudos to Unni and those quizzes which has given me great memories to cherish about my college life!!

Welldone Sachin!!! You have really shown that you are the greatest batsmen in the world. skeptics may argue that it was a batting pitch but I just want to remind every one that on the same pitch South Africa needed 9 batsmen to score 200 where as India needed only  one! That it self speaks volumes about the Little Master

Greetings everyone! I have been wanting to write for a long time. But due to my placements and final semester project works I could’nt make myself to complete it.  Well let me start. At 4:00 morning November 5th my sister gave birth to a beautiful girl . Both the baby and mother(my sister) are fine. Tomorrow we have a function at our house which according to our custom on the child’s 28th day. She will be given her name by our religious leader Amma later.

Well I has been a while since I have written my blog. Well I am currently at Ettimadai for campus placement. I reached here on 6th morning of the month. What to say about the journey. From Amritapuri to Ettimadai it was by bus. The journey was uneventful though I got really very little sleep. There was also a puncture for our bus that was taken cared by our own cheetan. Well on reaching to Ettimadai the first thing that strikes you is the climate. It is terribly cold here. Then the scenic beauty of the place simply bowls you over. Towering mountains, Green pastures and clear skies the combination of these factors are simply bewitching. There is a certain amount of real charm that enchants you to this place.
Well enough for the beauty of the place. Then we were all assigned rooms and the told to go for food. The food was great and was sumptuous. The after having our fill we all settled in our rooms for studying aptitude. My weak point was aptitude and the next day we had a test for Cognizant Technology Solutions(CTS). But I was more confident this time beacuse of Get the edge class. Well we worked hard for one day and then had a good night’s sleep. Then the designated day arrived. To be exact 7/12/2009. Well we all had a very light breakfast and went to the “Pandal” Which is an auditorium which is covered using “Shamiana” . Well once there we had a 1-2 hours presentation of CTS. For the presentation Maya Sreekumar,Project director of CTS came for conducting the recruitment process. We had a good session followed by the passion video which was clearly the edited version of the Everyday video of youtube. Well then we were all taken by bus to our respective exam bulidings and directed to our classrooms.
Round 1:This round consisted of quantitative aptitude and english questions and lastly logical problems . In this Aptitude round was comparitively easy. The logical was also easy ,it was like choosing the odd man out. it was really easy. The only section that really was hard was the English round. It had 25 question 20 minutes. It was really tough as it contained 2 paragraph which was really long.
Reaction:Well, At first I thought that I really had a chance. But since I did not do well in the english portion,I was a touch hesitant about the result.
Result: Well I passed the test and had to attend an interview the very next day(great!!)
Round 2:InterviewOn the day of the interview,naturally I was very tensed. Then to ease my tension, I remmembered Ratheesh Sir’s Advice. “How can you say no unless and and untill you try”. That really made me at ease. My interview was at 8:30 pm. I went there by 8:00 o’clock. There was one or two students who came to attend the exam as we have. Then in the IT block of the campus where we were to have our interview,we proceeded to the building and the searched for our respective rooms. The panel was panel 35 for me. When I went there it was the same place that our Veena also had interview. That sort of really calmed me down. Atleast I have one familar face among unfamilar ones. Then by 9:00 our Interviewer came and started our interview. Brr… then I was really scared. But then I got a new friend. He was a boy from Ettimadai campus,final year btech cs.His name is karthik. We started to discuss the various questions and then on impulse I asked him to explain normalization to me. He did it in a very efficent way and that really helped me. Then it was my turn to attend the interview. Well i was asked about my introduction,about what sub queries were, About my final semester project during my Bsc computer science , what php was and its working and basic questions from c and c++. Then really came the question What is normalization and what was it used for? really it was God who send karthik to me. I really explained well .That was the majority of the questons that was asked to me.
Reaction:When compared with the aptitude results I was far more confident but then again I had’nt done very well in the Hr questions.
Result: Well, I got the job!!(Hurray!!!Yahoo…..)I searched for Karthik in the subsequent days. I did not meet him till now. But because of him I was able to answer my crucial questions.Thank you Karthik!!
